2016 KTM 1190 R Yesterday I installed a stage II Rottweiler Canister and SAS removal kit. At the same time, I installed a Cyclops LED headlight upgrade. Now, when I ride and get mildly spirited, about 5 seconds after I let of the throttle I get a General Failure warning and the Fuel Gauge starts flashing.

My T7 vs my sons KTM SuperDuke 1290r reliability. Both less than a year old. My T7 zero problems, the 1290r has a head leaking oil. Going in for warranty work tomorrow. Hopefully you are on road when it fails, (close to a tow) Itâs practically impossible to push a big adventure bike very far off road. I told him to stay away from KTM.

Forever in the Dealer. My Adventure R 1190 has been at the dealer more than with me, currently it has been there for 4 weeks for a simple warranty repair but no one from the dealer or KTM seem bothered. So far in 2 years I haven't riden the bike without there being an issue present.

Spread the love. Reliability & build quality Itâs not a great story when you start delving into the reliability of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure. Two owners report serious enough problems to award it a one-star review. There doesnât seem to be a prevailing single issue as much as several, concerning both electrical and mechanical parts.
I started buying KTMâs in 2014 when I bought a 1190 Adv R . and have owned over the years a 2016 Super Adventure T, 2019 790 Adventure R, a 2020 Super Adventure S , a 2011 1190 RC8R and a 2022 Super Duke EVO. I have never had an major issueâs with any of them totaling almost 100,000 miles between all of them. I love these bikes.
I am torn about buying a reliable good used bike. I am between the Honda Africa Twin, a BMW 800GS or a KTM adventure 1090 or 1190. They seem to dominate the conversation when considering a GOOD bike that performs. But are the KTM's reliable bikes? do you have to know lots of mechanical
On 02/02/2022 I bought a 2015 1190 Adventure R. I would only buy a 2015, 2016 because of the frame and airbox issue (Even though previous did have a Rottweiller intake.) I wanted the R because of the spoke wheels and better off-road capability (I ride off road not that much, honestly.)
1. Location. Peak District. Apr 11, 2015. #1. just started the bike up and the display panel showed "GENERAL FAILURE" on my 2014 1190 Adv (just 1450 miles one the clock). I called the KTM dealer who suggestd that had Seen this before when the battery was running low. To be fair I charged the bike up for an hour and warning disappeared.

Seattle I've been thinking about buying a used 1190 but have been a bit hesitant for a couple of reasons. Am I getting the wrong impression looking at all of the issues in the forums online? I have read about the air filter issues and resulting engines that needed a rebuild in the early model years.
